Dr. Angeline Stanislaus, MD is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry and comes with over 30 years of experience in the healthcare field.
She consults with independent agencies in implementing empirically proven treatment for Opioid Use Disorders, identifying gaps in care, developing initiatives, and executing effective strategies to bridge those gaps. She aims at creating a system that is patient centered rather than system centered. Dr. Stanislaus provides trainings to substance use treatment professionals across the state and trains community psychiatrists/ nurse practitioners on the standard of care in management of substance use disorders.
Dr. Stanislaus is currently an independent forensic psychiatrist evaluator for court ordered or attorney referred clients on criminal and civil mental health related legal matters. She is also currently the Chief Medical Officer of Adult Services for the Missouri Department of Mental Health. In this position, she assists in the implementation of a statewide program through the State Targeted Response (STR) grant aimed at prevention and treatment of Opioid Use Disorders. She has worked closely with other experts in developing the treatment guidelines for Opioid Use Disorders and is part of the Opioid Crisis Management Team.
She is also currently an External Reviewer of Suicides for the Missouri Department of Corrections and is Expert Panel Hub Member for Opioid Use Disorder ECHO and Adult Psychiatry ECHO. As an external reviewer, the reviews the circumstances of the completed suicide and makes recommendations for changes in the system to prevent suicides. As a Hub Member, she provides continuing education to the professional community, addressing gaps in knowledge and skill.
Dr. Stanislaus is currently a member of the American Psychiatry Association (APA), Missouri Psychiatric Physician Association (MPPA), Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), and the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA). She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, Forensic Psychiatry. She is a three-time published author and has presented over 60 times.
