Sonja Schierling, MSW has worked in the Behavioral Health Care professions for over 30 years. She consults with a wide variety of behavioral health care organizations across the country to achieve and maintain Joint Commission compliance. In that capacity, she provides organizational assessment, policy development, mock surveys, and training.

Ms. Schierling has many years of experience in the field of quality, compliance, and regulatory compliance. She has led two organizations, leading the teams to achieve Behavioral Health Care systems Accreditation with Joint Commission. She has overseen and prepared for Joint Commission readiness for residential treatment settings, community based, wilderness programs, and psychiatric adolescent hospital settings.

With over 100 surveys, she enjoys assisting organizations with program and policy development, as well as compliance and survey readiness. Her passion is compliance and continued quality improvement.

Ms. Schierling received her master’s degree in social work from Denver University. She has experience in running residential treatment programs, shelters, and group homes for foster children.
